Wood, by its very presence, redefines the boundaries of space. This project is a two-level residence where design recedes into the background, allowing materials to speak in their own natural language, establishing a subtle order between upper and lower levels. Boundaries exist yet remain fluid; divisions appear without interruption. Within this, modern style acquires a quiet sense of tension.

At the entrance, black and white already set the tone for the entire home. Expanses of pure white allow light to breathe freely, while darker surfaces anchor the gaze with composure. Clean, yet not thin; minimal, yet warmed by the presence of wood.

From the entry into the living room, dark wood surfaces unfold along the walls. At the corner, a sharp right angle softens into a curve. Hard boundaries dissolve, allowing both vision and movement to turn naturally, giving direction to the flow of space.

The warmth that permeates the space comes from rosewood, finished with an intentional zero-gloss matte coating. The grain sheds its superficial sheen, returning to a quiet depth. To the touch, it feels as gentle as skin; to the eye, the matte surface absorbs light, making the material’s “breathing” perceptible. Within this finish, hardness and softness reach a balance.

Rosewood is dense and durable, capable of withstanding daily wear and the passage of time. Its grain flows like a mountain stream, its texture as smooth as aged jade, gaining luster with use. Dimensionally stable, it resists deformation despite climatic changes and carries a subtle natural fragrance that quietly supports the well-being of its inhabitants.

On the wooden TV wall, a sliding structure allows the screen to appear or disappear as needed. Extended, it serves its function; retracted, everything returns to simplicity. Storage and emptiness find balance in this movement. The calmness of the visual field comes from each element being precisely placed.

On one side of the TV wall, a right angle again yields to a curve, echoing the entrance. The curved surface softens spatial boundaries, guiding the eye along its arc toward the next space, extending the visual field through transition.

Following the curve inward, the space gradually quiets. The ground-floor bedroom is tucked within, where design sheds excess expression, leaving only the warmth of wood and the stillness of light. The sense of antiquity is not imposed, but emerges from details placed with precision. Sleep, in its essence, should be like this.

The headboard wall is divided by a half-height panel: light above, depth below. Beyond function, it introduces rhythm to the wall. A mid-century palette runs throughout, allowing layers to emerge naturally between upper and lower parts.

In the bedroom, wood defines a domain devoted to rest. It does not intrude; it simply exists within reach. Morning light settles upon it, and nighttime breath lingers over it. Day after day, the tone deepens, and the space gains its own sense of weight.

Deeper within, a second room awaits. The tone of wood remains unchanged—calm and consistent—yet subtle variations introduce its own rhythm. The space continues in a similar language, each area forming its own chapter. Within unity, there is diversity.

The wardrobe features a wooden frame with rattan-woven doors, gently introducing a vintage touch. The combination preserves tradition while adding new interest. When the doors open, light filters through the rattan weave, turning the wardrobe into a visual feature within the space—refined, yet grounded.

Within the texture of rattan lies the trace of time. The craftsman, working through years, builds an unspoken understanding between fingers and material. Machines can replicate patterns, but not this warmth. Only the human hand allows rattan to find its own rhythm within the wooden frame.

Following the curved wooden structure downward, the space continues, and so does the story. What is left blank above finds expression below. Here, the narrative pauses—its resonance reserved for the next chapter.
